Envy is a great developmental force. It is bad only if it sets us on a destructive course. However, if envy makes us build and improve ourselves, then the envy is good.
Envy is a characteristic quality of our egoistic desires. With its help, we see that others have things that we do not have. It thus makes us develop ourselves.
Envy integrates us, and such integration can continue up to a point of grasping other people’s desires, thoughts and qualities.
