We have no choice. COVID-19 has exposed the world as one integral system and we need to adapt to it. The forecast of the international scientific community warns of subsequent waves and aftershocks of the pandemic and other natural blows which will force us to address these threats in the same way they manifest themselves, globally. From now on, we will need to develop a global perspective and preparedness, a new foundation upon which we want to base our common vision of the future.
The coronavirus has taught us that to face a common global challenge with a localized response will no longer suffice. Therefore, the progress in the new world we enter as we try to recover from the pandemic will be determined by our capacity to emerge as a new human society, more conscious of the need for considerate relations between us and toward nature. We must clearly interpret the unmistakable message of this recent blow: All of you are interconnected, you all belong to an integral system of one comprehensive nature.
The virus makes no distinctions based on social or economic status, who abuses ecology, who treats it well, who is right or who is wrong. We all suffer the consequences of the plague, so it shows us that we are enclosed in a circular system in which the part is equal to the whole.

This pandemic behaves like a stern father returning home after a hard day at work to his little children who are arguing and quarreling:” Look what he did to me!” “No, he started it!” Seeing the children as equally guilty, the father dishes out a collective punishment. This attitude may not be perceived as just, but going forward, the brothers will certainly reconsider whether it is worth it or not to engage in conflict.
The punishment certainly becomes engraved in their minds, and if they draw the right conclusion and internalize it, they will restrain themselves and block their outbursts. Even the brother who was certain he was right will bow his head, and even a third brother who may not have been involved at all in the quarrel will learn from his brothers’ suffering and take a step backward.
Countries and nations are like brothers in a family. If they are smart enough to sit down and balance the international relations between them, so much the better. If all the countries of the world realize that they are interdependent and behave accordingly, each will have a good and happy life. If not, then the “father” will come and educate the whole brood.
Nature is the landlord that sees us as one and does not care that we have divided into peoples and countries for egotistical reasons in attempts to control one another. The pervasive integral process which humanity has experienced with the coronavirus has come to show us the kind of comprehensive globalization that must take place: a whole-world consciousness conceived in equality, supportive in actions, caring for the other and never taking unfair advantage for individual benefit. All competition should be based on who can do more to bestow upon others rather than who can overpower and abuse people—a totally different system of relations.
Therefore, it is the duty of the world’s leadership to establish an education system that will utilize all information means possible to explain the goals for a united human society, to develop a complete line-up of lessons that will teach every person and society the principles of mutual consideration, to educate on the concept of humanity as one family where everyone is cared for and no one is left behind. We must collectively build a model society and a new social infrastructure that will encourage volunteerism and goal oriented action to improve quality of life and prosperity for all.
Willingly or not, nature is compelling all of us to construct the future society, a global, integral humanity. Our new society must be based on love of others. We must expand our sight to see all of reality in one glance. It is time to push the restart button that will erase our narrow-minded vision of self-benefit and replace it with a broad perspective that sees the whole picture of reality as an integral unit.
